RRB JE Recruitment 2024: There is good news for lakhs of candidates waiting for the Railway Junior Engineer recruitment process to start. The application link has been opened for recruitment to 7951 posts of Junior Engineer. Interested candidates will be able to apply online for RRB JE recruitment from today i.e. 30th July to 29th August 2024.

7951 posts will be recruited RRB Junior Engineer Vacancy 2024

According to the Decentralized Employment Information (CEN) No. 03/2024 published by the Board in Employment News, a total of 7951 posts of Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant, Chemical Supervisor (Research) and Metallurgical Supervisor (Research) are to be recruited.

Who can apply

For recruitment to Junior Engineer posts, the candidate must have passed BE / BTech or 3 years Diploma in Engineering stream from a recognized university or institute. Apart from this, the minimum age has been fixed at 18 years and maximum age at 33 years. However, as per government rules, the maximum age limit will be relaxed for reserved category candidates.

Recruitment after 2019

Earlier, RRB had released bumper recruitment of JE in 2019. Then recruitment was done for 14,059 posts of JE, whereas this time 7,951 vacancies have been released. This time due to Covid-19 epidemic, candidates have been given relaxation of three years in the maximum age limit. Age will be calculated from 1 January 2025.

Selection Process

RRB JE selection process includes first stage CBT, second stage CBT, document verification and medical. The duration of CBT 1 exam is 90 minutes and the duration of CBT 2 exam is 120 minutes. CBT 1 will have 100 questions and CBT 2 will have 150 questions. There will be negative marking of one-third marks for wrong answers in CBT.

Application fee

The application fee for general category applicants is Rs 500, out of which Rs 400 will be refunded to the applicants on appearing in the exam. Whereas, the application fee for SC/ST, women and physically handicapped, economically weaker section and ex-servicemen is Rs 250. The entire amount of the fee will be refunded to these applicants on appearing in the exam.
