After losing contact with Mars Colony Echo-7, Earth sends a lone investigator, Major Harland, to assess the situation. Upon arrival, he finds the colony abandoned, tools left mid-use, meals half-eaten, and not a single body in sight.

The colony’s logs show signs of paranoia in the final days—crew members accused one another of being “replaced.” Harland checks the DNA registry. Strangely, there’s one extra genetic signature that doesn’t match any crew member. It keeps moving locations—always one step ahead.

As he delves deeper, Harland sees movement out of the corner of his eye. The shadows seem to breathe. At night, something taps on the outside of the dome.

He finally discovers a survivor, hidden in an air duct, raving about “the mimic.” Harland decides to evacuate—but who else is on board with him when he leaves?

As the date nears, the town begins to change. People disappear in daylight. Electrical storms swirl unnaturally above the desert. Linda must decide: evacuate and risk national attention—or stay and fight something no one truly understands.
